PROJECT TEAM:
PROJECT MANAGER: C/CMSgt WILSON
PROJECT ENGINEERS: C/2Lt ORLOVSKY
C/CMSgt DURGIN
CURRENT PROJECT STATUS:
• 1 YELLOW LiPO battery dead. Maj Hartig will dispose of because of gas buildup in battery pack. DONE.
• 2 BLUE LiPO charging, assumed OK.
• 1 YELLOW LiPO, status unknown. Team to attempt to charge and report status.
• Airframe and Control Systems (Request to AEOs as needed parts and tools to complete MILESTONE #1).
a) Servos and control electronics locked down and tidied up
b) Airframe panels repaired, cleaned up and installed.
c) Ascertain if tail skid is adequate for taxi and soft field operations.
MILESTONE #1 (STATUS TO BE REPORTED 1 FEB 2017)
• ENGINE operational with remote control box.
• CONTROL SURFACES buckled down and operational with remote control box.
MILESTONE #2
• Plan and conduct slow speed TAXI tests in drill hall (w/permission of base commander) or outside if weather permits. Maybe at Trout Brook in conjunction with rocket launching exercise.
• Contact Quinapoxet R/C club for mentorship assistance.
• Contact NHQ to make sure we are FAA legal. I registered the UAV with them back a year or so ago.
MILESTONE #3
• Contact MIT AeroAstro dept and arrange to take UAV down for wind tunnel aerodynamics and weight and balance (CG). AEOs will aid in this effort.
MILESTONE #4
• High speed taxi, short takeoff and landing handling in off airport (Trout Brook) environment. Prepare and review plan with AEOs.
MILESTONE #5 if we hit 1-4
• FIRST FLIGHT
